the task

  • To place Accenture at the forefront of equality in Ireland by tackling key equality issues causing barriers to entry for young people in Ireland today
  • To shed light on the unique challenges and triumphs of young people across Ireland, especially those facing intersecting inequalities based on their gender identities, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity and minority status
  • Engage, educate and encourage younger generations to talk about issues surrounding equality

the experience

Launched by Accenture in collaboration with Ireland’s leading youth mental health and information platform, Spunout.ie, Gen E is a public awareness series that celebrates the power of personal storytelling and aims to break down barriers, challenge stereotypes and inspire people to be their authentic selves, especially from an early age. Five contributors were profiled in a video series to educate and encourage conversations about issues surrounding equality and for all ages to support young people to have the confidence to find their own voices and tell their own stories.

Our key audience was a generational cohort typically known as Gen Z. The idea was to flip the narrative by renaming this generation, Generation E or Generation Equal.

GEN E was created as a five part docu-series showcasing  the voices, stories and lived experiences of LGBTQ+ young people and those from ethnic minority backgrounds in an effort to foster conversations about real inclusion and diversity issues faced by young people today.

The campaign was designed to engage, educate and encourage younger generations to talk about issues surrounding equality.

Each story highlighted an individual's journey, from overcoming adversity to making a positive impact on the world.

With filming taking place in locations across Ireland, each film had a unique story and background that would capture the attention of the Gen Z population nationally.

We carefully considered how the story could be told visually, how each story and speaker would stand out from one other and most importantly how we could capture the individuality and essence of the speaker on camera.

The Generation E Campaign officially launched at Accenture’s International Women’s Day event in the Convention Centre Dublin to an audience of 1,800 on 8th March 2023.

The outcome

  • 37% Increase in calls to the spunout crisis support line
  • 72.5K YouTube views
  • 37.5K Instagram impressions
  • 1.5M TikTok impressions
  • Reached 1 in 3 young people in Ireland
